PDF

This is a charging cradle for smart phones that have USB-C charging ports on the bottom.

Parts List

  • 1x phon holder base (3d printed)
  • 1x phon holder top (3d printed)
  • 1x right angle USB-C adapter (I use this from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2NJ3P3L)
  • 2x M2.5x5 screws
  • 1x screwdriver
  • 1x bottle of 4.5mm copper coated bb's (optional)
  • 1x USB-C charging cable

Assembly Instructions

  1. Take the charging cable and plug it into the right angle adapter
  2. (Optional) Fill the two pockets in the base with bb's for ballast. Note: This is not heavy enough to make it so you can remove the phone without holding the cradle. Perhaps 3M adhesive tape on the bottom will work better?
  3. Place the USB-C right angle adapter and charging cable in the grove in the base piece.
  4. Place the top piece on the base piece, trapping the cable and adapter inside.
  5. Get the two M2.5 screws and a screwdriver ready.
  6. With one hand, squeeze the top and bottom pieces together and turn it over.
  7. With the other hand, place the two screws in the holes on the bottom. Tighten with the screwdriver.

Print Recommendation

Add mouse ears to the back two corners of the top piece to prevent warping. (See included .3mf file).
