UPDATE 11 April 2023: I have added .3mf and .step files of a modification that will fit the new Avatar Pro camera (the one that works in super low-light, it has a longer lens so it needed some extra material in the tunnel, otherwise all dimensions are the same). The rest of the mount is the same. It should fit the v2 VTX fine (but I don't have one, so I can't guarantee that). In that case you only have one antenna, you can slice off one of the “ears” or just leave it empty. Enjoy!
A while back I designed a 3D printed swappable mounting system for my wings that fit in a GoPro Session form factor and would hold a Caddx Vista or Runcam Link (for the DJI FPV ecosystem). Me and some friends are now dabbling in the Walksnail system just to see what's up, and that meant it was time to remix my design to fit those as well.
This is designed to carry the Caddx/Walksnail/Fatshark/whatever standard VTx with the “micro” (19x19mm) camera and stock antennas. If the mood strikes me, I may adjust it to fit other antenna options. Because I know someone will ask: I doubt that it will be able to fit an SMA adapter, there just isn't enough room. Sorry.
This mount fits in my series of bases that are meant to be permanently installed in the FPV wing. The idea is that it makes the VTx swappable so that you don't need to buy another one for every single plane. It snaps in very securely, trust me, it's not coming out unless you want it to or crash very very hard. All you need to do is wire it to your FCs with a connector so you can unplug it from one plane and plug it into the other. I fly all my wings with flight controllers. I guess if you didn't use flight controllers, all you need to do is wire power and ground, but the concept is the same.
You can see an example of the mount that it snaps into here, and there are mounts for several other wings in my profile. As I get more wings I will add more. If there's a wing you'd like to see this on, let me know, and I'll see what I can do. No promises, but I'm willing to entertain requests as the mood and available time hits me.
This holder will also fit into pretty much any wing that has a GoPro Session mount. Even though the Session is long gone, this is still somewhat common in molded wings, such as the TBS Caipirinha II or the ReadyMadeRC Recruit/SonicModell AR Classic. In cases like the Recruit where the Session mount has a lid over the top of it, all you need to do is trim a little foam to make room for the antennas.
Feel free to screw around with this to suit your needs. All I ask is that 1) you not sell it, 2) you acknowledge where you got the original from (me) and 3) you show everyone else the cool thing you made!
