Due to the strong magnetic adhesion of my Mercury X Wash-Station, every time I pick it up and try to change the water, my base sticks to the water tank.
Because it is pretty a pain handling 8 liters of fluid in one hand and trying to get rid of this tiny, sticky base with the other, I designed a buffer between base and tank.
For me it works pretty well and has two advantages:
Obvious. The base unit stays dutiful on the ground while lifting the water tank up.
Unproven and just theoretical. It lowers the magnetic adhesion between base and tank.
A lower adhesion reduces the force that is working on the mechanic base parts.
This force can misplace or cause a deformation to the magnetic rotary in the base, which is a major problem of this wash-station.
I also have not noticed any impact on the rotation speed of the mixer or a lowered swirl performance.
Good swirling and have fun.
