This is a holder for the Ketch Karbonate (specifically plastic 26" model) fishing ruler that attaches to standard kayak accessory tracks (specifically for my Native Watercraft Slayer Propel 10).

Disclaimers: I cannot guarantee that the cradle will fit and work with your specific kayak. I do not know if the metal Ketch X boards will fit the cradle. As with all of my 3D printed kayak accessories, I printed with PETG, which has held up for at least one season of freshwater fishing in central Texas climates (36-102* temps). Your results may vary. I had to drill a hole in the bump board in order to stow my lanyard-ed Ketch on my port/left side. If you fish tournaments, check to see if such modifying of your board is a rules violation. I do not assume responsibility for any damaged or lost Ketch boards.

The design is reversible and has three height settings. You will need additional hardware to assemble and attach the cradle. Stainless steel is strongly recommended to prevent rusting. This is the hardware I used:

* YakAttack hardware should be decent alternatives to the Native Slugs; I've also seen reports of people using large 1/4"-20 bolts inside accessory tracks.

Print settings for BASE:

  • I used a 0.6 nozzle with 0.3mm layer height for faster printing, but a standard 0.4 nozzle and 0.2-0.3mm heights will be fine
  • PETG recommended over PLA
  • 3 perimeters (I might go 4 if using a 0.4 nozzle)
  • 70% rectilinear infill
  • no supports needed when oriented on its side

Print settings for HOLDER:

  • I used a 0.6 nozzle with 0.3mm layer, but a standard 0.4 nozzle and 0.2-0.3mm heights will be fine
  • PETG recommended over PLA
  • 3 perimeters (I might go 4 if using a 0.4 nozzle)
  • 50% rectilinear infill
  • no supports needed when oriented with beveled edge pointing up
