This is an interlocking sidewall extension for Cosori digital food dehydrator bought from Amazon (Model # CFD-N051-W). Measures 293mm diameter.
Inspired by other dehyrator extensions, this allows use of the trays without modifying the dehydrator or trays. It also uses cutouts and notches in the trays to lock together, so locking joints are not required.
Multiple trays and extensions can be stacked to dry multiple filaments at the same time. Extensions can be stacked into each other without a tray to allow drying extra large spools (eg. 5kg master bulk spools).
Fusion360 source file is attached for anyone who wants to tinker and fit it to another dehydrator.
Print in PETG, ASA or another temperature resistant material. This was printed in Eryone White PETG.
Print instructions
Here are my print settings in Bambu Studio (most were left at PETG defaults). Takes about 1h40m to print on the X1C at default speeds. You can print several at a time if you have stringing under control.
Manual supports will be easier to deal with since auto will fill in the slot. You will want to paint on supports for the unsupported left and right overhangs on the very bottom. Alternatively, you could print it upside-down and let auto supports do their thing.
Where to go from here
I have seen other people add in turntables and PTFE tubes to use as a drybox for those very long prints.
