What?

This is a printable solution for mounting your JDS Atom Amp & DAC below your desk. This keeps it out of the way, but still accessible for all your dial turning, button pressing, input switching needs. As a bonus it offers some tools for wire organization, and clipping your ¼ inch plug out of the way when not in use.

Materials?

6 coarse threaded screws with approximately 5mm diameter, and approximately 20mm length (maybe less if your desk isn't very thick). If you're planning on using the wire organizer and/or power supply mount, get another screw for each of them as well.

I used some sheet metal screws I had laying around, but mostly anything that can bite into your desk surface and has some sort of washer should be fine. For example, these #10 sheet metal screws look similar to what I used.

Tools?

A drill for making pilot holes for your screws (especially if you're intending to use this with a solid wood desk).

A screwdriver for final tightening.

Printing?

Print out two of the jds atom mount.stl

Print out two of the spacer narrow.stl

Print out a single spacer wide.stl

If you have a mess of cables coming out from your Atom, consider printing out a wire organizer spool.stl

If you sometimes use your ¼ inch plug, consider printing a single plug clip.stl as well. Note that this should be printed vertically with a big brim, it shouldn't need any supports. This part is designed to go on the left side of the mount, so feel free to flip it if you want it to go on the right.

If you'd like to mount your power supplies under there as well, try printing a single power supply mount.stl as well

Installation?

Check out the pictures to see how it comes together. Basically, position the printed Atom mounts next to each other under your desk, with one of them rotated around (the boxy sides should touch). With one hand holding them in place, use the other to mark the centers of each hole with a marker. Use these marks to drill pilot holes for your screws.

With the pilot holes drilled, lay a narrow spacer on the non-boxy side of one of your Atom mounts, and stick a screw through each hole. The curved side of the spacer should overhang the towards the middle of the Atom mount. Use a screw driver to start screwing these into your desk, but stop once the screws start to bite. Next put the wide spacer on the other side of that same mount, and screw in two more screws part-way into those half holes. Now stick the other (rotated) Atom mount up there so it's half holes match, and then use your last narrow spacer on the remaining end, again only putting the screws in part-way.

With everything loosely in place, slide your amp and DAC into place, and finish screwing everything in snugly.

If you printed out the plug clip model, now's the time to install it. Remove the two screws on the left (or right, if yours is flipped) and slide the clip into place. Put the two screws back in and tighten them in place.

The wire organizer and power supply mount are installed in a similar way, just figure out where they need to go, drill the pilot hole, then screw them into place!

Anything Else?

I've only tested this with my Atom amp and DAC, not the newer Atom+ line. I don't believe any dimensions changed, but that's something to consider. Similarly, the power supplies might've changed since I ordered mine, so the power supply mount.stl might not be accurate.
