Because what the world needs is Yet Another Wine Rack!
After a bit of research I found that the “standard” wine bottle has a diameter of 75mm. After some testing, I discovered that no one cares about that standard, and my wife's favourite red wine comes in an 83mm bottle. The inner diameter of each hexagonal segment is 90mm, so should able to accomodate most 750ml bottles with no problem.
To assemble:
Print two of the hexagonal rack pieces for each bottle. Also print a bunch of the connectors (two for each face being joined). Yes, they get tricky to join as it gets bigger and you have more contact points: it's deliberately made to be a tight fit because you don't want your rack falling to pieces!
For the top row I have included a half sized module: where ours lives there wasn't quite enough room to fit the full hexagon, but there was enough room for a bottle. The half-hex works perfectly for here.
Pro tip: I used a few G-clamps to pull the pieces together and make sure they were snug.
No special printing requirements. I churned them out at 0.24mm / layer in PLA with 10% infill, and the pieces are plenty rigid.
