I found a 2-pack of USB-integrated wall plugs at Costco, and figured one of them could be handy as a quick extension when in the workshop or doing some construction work. The USB ports would be super handy.
The box is made for a standard outlet box to be screwed in, and the outlet place pretty well flush to the perimeter of the box.
This box includes tabs for surface mounting, or it can simply be hung by a hook from top loop. I've added a strain relief which in the end just worked as a grommet. It's made for a converted 15A cable for a computer, approx. 6.3mm diameter, but you can adjust as you need in the slicer. Use a ziptie inside as a strain relief and make sure there's a bit of slack left in the box.
For the clip, I ran it under hot water to soften it a bit before I squeezed the one end open for the cord. The upper tabs are made to keep the cable wrapped around the box for storage. Turn on snug “supports from the build plate only” and you'll be fine.
NOTE: This is something that I feel comfortable enough using and I installed an in-line 15A fuse in the box, but I certainly can't say it's CSA-approved. It's not for outdoor use by any means. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
For the durability, PETG is maybe best to avoid cracking, as some PLA can be a bit brittle.
