Summary

Fairly straightforward use of the Boardgaming Insert Toolkit v2.20. I love BIT as it lets me store games vertically without bags and holds pieces in place.I chose to leave the Petz dials in their bag for storage. It and all the boards/rules just go on top.

If I were printing this again, I'd re-generate the STLs using the newest version (2.39 as of this writing) knowing a few tips I've learned since:

  • on my MK3S, the lids have to be printed with the "Detect Thin Walls" setting ON. But if the box is printed with that setting, then the lid is too loose.
  • print small samples, testing the g_tolerance value until lids fit with desired snugness.
  • Someday I'll test printing box and lid together with "thin walls" on and see if there's a g_tolerance value that works well.
Things I'd do differently in the design:
    • narrow the aperture on the Cages box - the cage add-ons tend to fall out.
    • possibly print card holders as a tray that could hold draw and discard piles for each color
    • expand the box sizes just a bit to make things fit more snugly in the box.

Note: in working on another one, realized that lids with labels print better at .2 or better layer height.
