Pill Dispenser (small)

I saw the original of this and thought it was really interesting, because it used a push-fit lid.  Sadly though, that original is also massive, and I wanted something half the size.

If you scale things down, two things become a problem, the text is too small and the clip gets super weak as its half the filament.

I've done the following to the design:

• 50% smaller
• Toughened up the weak points (the lid clip, stays that hold the lid closed)
• Removed the divider, so a single chamber per day
• Designed inset labelling

I recommend printing the holder using supports from the build plate, just to get a clean centre, but it's not essential.

How to do the Labelling

The labelling is a little tricky to print.  It's very important that the text and outline line up on the bed.  You print the text first in one filament colour, change filaments, remove any skirt you may have printed, and then print with the outline colour while keeping the text on the bed.

What you end up with is a two colour strip that's 0.4mm thick and flexible.  Next remove it warm from the bed and curl it up, as this helps in the next stage.

The strip then fits into the slot on the holder, make a sharp kink, and follow around the circumference within the groove.  At the end you need to slot this in too; it can be tricky, I find testing and repeating until both ends go in reasonably accurately (you can cut down the end if needed).  As a final part of the process, rolling the slot on a surface can help push it all together (as pictured).

The main reason for all of this is to avoid glues and overspill, but that works too.
