Light weight, strong, compact and fast printing. The adjustable mechanism holds stable due to the force of the half-circle-spring against the control surface (little nub) bellow it. The springiness of the spring allows the mechanism to revolve and the divots in the spring to admit the control surface at the next interval. Slicing recommendations-
Speed: 30-50 mm/s. 50% speed for the snap bolt.
Infill: 20% honeycomb
Supports: Only on the Plate. Paint supports under the overhangs. (see photo)
Layer height: .2 mm
Perimeters: 3 vertical, 4 top and bottom shells.
Brim: On the plate. 6 mm width.
Orientation: Snap bolt - horizontally flat. Plate - vertically upright. Spring - horizontally flat.
Elephant's foot compensation: Recommended for the spring.
NOTES: These settings are based on a .4 mm nozzle, PLA, PrusaSlicer, and are all optional. Estimated print time is 3h30m. You can print the test components along with the snap bolt to make sure your printer can handle the tolerances; just make sure you orient them the same way and use the same settings as the actual components when slicing. For orienting the plate, lay it flat on its back an then turn it 90 degrees so its standing straight upright and paint supports under its feet. For the spring, consider a slower speed using a height range modifier between 4.2mm and 10mm.
