Magnetic hose connector for dust collection 50mm

The model contains a small groove (female) or protruding ring (male) which allows a centering of the two parts. 

A fixed port (e.g. to be installed into a wall of a housing) and a floating port (to attach to a hose) is available. 

The model works for 50mm hose (inner diameter) and can therefore also be used in connection with 50mm HT pipes to change to a fix installation. 

The design is based on 6x6x6mm magnets which are slightly pressed in. (there is a hole on the back to push out a magnet in case you put it in the wrong way around ;-))

in the pictures you can see an example of how i'm planning to use it: my cyclone will be equipped with a magnetic hose which i can attach to one of 6 ports which i use for different machines (one connected to table saw, other for workbench, etc..)

Version 1.0

• fully functioning but might only support a limited amount of hose length (depending on magnet strength). For the purpose of my hose connector (example picture) it will be working well with a free hose length of 0.5m

further versions with improvements will follow. 

Updates - V2.0

• Heavy-duty version with 6 magnets for connection of 50mm hose to 64mm (outer diameter) ports. This works for the DeWalt Table Saw (7492) and the Metabo thickness planer (DH330). These versions are not compatible with the 3-magnet versions, as the center groove is larger.
