This is more of a reverse engineering than a remix since I started with a blank CAD screen, but stayed close to the original design and dimensions. I am marking it as a remix to give all due credit to the originator.
When I saw Boba Fett's model for magnetic parallel holders the other day, I thought it was a great idea, but I didn't have any 3/8" magnets on hand, only 10mm (which are just a little too big). Which is kind of funny given that my workshop is very much an inch workshop as far as tooling goes. Anyway, I redrew the holder to accept the magnets that I do have, and am posting it here in case anyone else might find it useful
I printed these out of PETG, but other materials should work fine as well. Use with 10mm x3mm cylindrical magnets. They are intended to be a press fit, but the size of the magnets tends to vary a little so a little glue might be needed to hold them in place.
Yes, I know that my vise is a POS. The hammer marks are not mine and were there when I got it. I should have bought a new one, but at least I won't cry the first time I put my own marks on it.
The author remixed this model.
