This is a print-in-place Bambu Lab Mini AMS Companion. Use it to keep your X1/X1 Carbon/P1P company while you wait for your full size AMS or additional AMS(s) to arrive.

There are two different versions. One of them has a cut-out which allows you to mount it on your AMS's handle. Why? Why not! Both versions come with or without print-in-place attached spools.

I've also created four separate miniature filament spool designs that fit in the Mini AMS versions without spools. The three separate parts (spool left, filament, spool right) should just snap together. The filament part fits in all spool holders.

Print the models as oriented in the files with the AMS rear on the build plate or it won't work correctly. Supports are only needed on the AMS handle mounted versions. Add supports on the overhang on the back of the model. Use transparent filament for that see-thru lid goodness.

To print the logo version using your AMS, in Bambu Studio make sure that you have at least two filaments added, then split the Mini AMS model into separate “parts”. Then in the “Objects" selection select the color of your choice for each of the four inset logo parts. The “.3mf” file already has two plates configured with the logo painted.

After printing. lift the lid by holding on to its sides. It should freely rotate from the base. If that doesn't work then insert and angle a slotted screwdriver between the base and lid side bottom to release it from the base. The three support struts in the lid can be snipped off.

Mini AMS .3mf Files:

  • Plate 01: with spools
  • Plate 02: without spools
  • Plate 03: with spools, with painted logo
  • Plate 04: without spools, with painted logo

Bambu Studio Settings:

Strength

  • Wall loops:
  • Top shell layers: 2
  • Bottom shell Layers: 4
  • Sparse infill density: 12%
  • Sparse infill patter: Grid

Support (Only for AMS Handle Cut-Out versions)

  • Enable support: yes
  • Type: normal(manual)

Other

  • Brim type: No-brim
  • Prime tower: Disable (For better logo results leave enabled. I disabled it because it's such a waste of filament for just a small filament change at the top of the print.)
