I've had several people come back to me about my original rope machine, looking for a 3 hook version. Someone even made the compelling point that while 4 strand rope is stronger than 3, 3 strand rope is MUCH easier to splice, and I agree! I spent some time remastering my rope machine to use 3 hooks.
Here is the kicker! The 3 hook remix uses the SAME parts as the 4 hook! Yay for being clever! So, you only need to print 1 magicwand3hooks.stl and 2 mainbracket3hooks.stl. The you can use 3 of your 4 hooks from the original rope machine and assemble all the parts. Clips, handles, grips and gears from the 4 hook version should all fit into the 3 hook main bracket. You can even pack-around the extra parts in case you feel like making 4 strand rope later!
Enjoy!

you can print with a brim if you like. The flatter the brackets stay, the smoother the machine runs.
