This LED light bar can be used either as a lamp or to shine some light on your honeycomb storage wall. It's low profile and takes up 8 honeycomb spaces on the storage wall.
There are four parts to the model:
The model was designed to use M3 bolts, together with the M3 fastening insert that is part of the original HSW design (which is included with the model files).
What you need :
Print Settings:
I was able to print all parts in PLA with a 0.6mm nozzle at a 0.2mm layer height. Only 3 top and bottom layers were used, with 2 vertical/perimeter layers.
No supports are required.
Use the Honeycomb infill in Prusa Slicer (15% infill) to get the honeycomb pattern to shine through the top of the LED when the light is on. If you'd prefer a solid lightbar without the infill being visible then increase the number of top/bottom layers and the number of perimeters.
The diffuser is extremely thin (0.4mm which is only 2 layers) and I printed it in white PLA - you may want to use clear/transparent filament instead for a brighter light (or you can skip the diffuser altogether).
Assembly:
Once your LED strip of choice is glued into the lightbar, the diffuser can be slid into the grooves. It's a bit of a tight fit but is easily achieved. The diffuser can be added or removed even when the light bar is installed, no need to disassemble.
The light bar fits onto the bracket/hinge and is secured with the nut & bolt. I'd recommend heating the nut and melting it into the hexagon shaped slot rather than just simply inserting it.
The bracket/hinge then connects to the M3 insert. The bracket can be swiveled to adjust the position of the lightbar if it's not connected too tightly to the insert.
