Ultimate Modular Photo Keeper Game Storage

This started as a simple remix but then I basically gutted the original model and started fresh. Credit still very much given for a great idea and starting point.

This is a series of models that fit the Simply Tidy Photo and Craft Keeper sold at Michael’s at https://www.michaels.com/photo-and-craft-keeper-by-simply-tidy/10174559.html. I know there are other variations of this product, and these models might fit those too, but the tolerances are tight and I haven’t tested any others so no guarantees.

There’s a few reasons I designed this the way I did:

• Having a frame adds stability, provides some spacing to make picking up containers easier, and helps keep the parts in both halves from moving around too much.
• The frame is lower than the containers so that there’s a little lip to use as a grip when lifting them out. It’s designed to line up with the little horizontal ledge on the bottom part of the photo keeper.
• There’s no bottom in the frame to maximize available height since only containers sit directly in the frame, and they all have floors.
• The container to hold cards can hold at least 52 sleeved poker-size cards (this was a hard requirement for me - tested with Sleeve Kings).
• I wanted the container to be easily liftable out of the frame so they could go straight on the table for play (including any cards).
• I wanted the interior storage to be flexible without having to design a different layout for each game. The different sizes of containers can accommodate a variety of small box games and their components.
• The “large” container utilizes one half of the frame and can be used as a starting template for more customized game-specific containers when needed.
• The container height goes right up to the interior height of the photo keeper for maximum storage.

There are a lot of container models provided for maximum flexibility. In general, there are four main sizes that subdivide the space on half of the frame: “large”/"cards", “medium”, “small”, and “tiny”. And each of those container sizes is provided in both full and half height. There are also some containers that subdivide the space into thirds provided in both heights. Separators are also provided that help stack containers when using the half height ones. See the diagram for a visual idea of how the containers are sized and named. In general, I'd recommend sticking to the four main container sizes in full height unless the components of a specific game call for something different.

Note that the half height containers are each 1mm shorter than true half height to allow for a 2mm separator where needed. If no separator is used, 2 half height containers will end up being slightly shorter than a single full height container next to them.
