This part can aid you in the design process to decide how big the “holes” should be for in your filament hinge/rivet (eg, panel latch for Voron side panel) for your particular printer and print setting.

Each set of holes are at least 3mm apart to avoid any issue with thin wall (or random articat)

YMMV depending on printer and profile (most important is bridging). On my Voron V0.1 using Ellis's profile, my setting are:

  • 1.95mm is perfect for friction fit, where you want the filament to stay in place, used when you want the hinge to stay in place)
  • 2-2.1mm are for more loss fit (filament stays, but move)
  • anything beyond is a loss fit

Let me know if you want more hole sizes, wall thickness or increment, the Autodesk Inventor file is in place with parameter to change all three parameter. I believe it's possible to convert Inventor file to Fusion 360 if needed
