Although being a 70’s child, I never heard of this game before getting involved with 3D printing.

As for the housing (split into two parts which are glued together afterwards as removing the necessary support structures has been proven to be a real pain) and the carrier design this is a complete overhaul of the original design by “mroek” at Thingiverse.

The goal of the game is to bring all dials in a horizontal position in order to slide the carrier out. And then bring the dials into an upright position again :-)

For my printing conditions, the parameters of the standard elements work fine—especially regarding the tolerance between the dials and the knobs on the carrier. For calibration purposes I included the file “Ayntraxt Carrier-7 V3 TEST.stl” where the knobs’ outer diameter vary from –0.2 to +0.1 mm in 0.05 mm increments. For a test, you can print one or more dials and the test carrier and see which one fits best. Afterwards you can use your slicer’s x/y compensation feature to print the final carrier.

You then have the choice of printing either the 7- or the 6-dial version of the game.

You also need to print “dial1.stl” for the first pin and “dial2-7.stl” for every other one and either of the two housing parts (which you simply glue together).

As usual with my designs, the FreeCAD files are included. In this case, there is an OpenSCAD file, too, if your slicer is not able to substract text elements from a body and you want to use this for a Geocache, too (or include a message for any recipient). The file “Ayntraxt Carrier-7 V3 DEMO-Coords.stl” is not intended to be printed but just gives a hint on where the hidden text should be placed. You may also adapt the inscript concept for the shorter version. Just move it by 26.4 mm.
