Description

PDF

Wanted a simple, but smooth filament holder. Uses (4) 608-2RS Bearings. Got 8 from amazon for $5. Used Dillion Precision Primer Pickup tube for rod cut to length.

.

Feel Free to remix it. May want to make it taller/longer, but I just wanted something quick lol. Works great very little noise.

.

Great thing with this is you can make it wider without using more filament. Just use longer Rod…. Allows use of different brand spools…

Very Important

Yes the bearings are supposed to protrude slightly to keep spool off 3D printed  parts.

When selecting a rod use something that's slightly smaller than the inner diameter of your bearings. May design rollers you can print later haven't decided.

Must be positioned centered over the filament guide hole. This keeps downward pressure when feeding, and keeps the spool on the rollers.

.

I printed this on an Ender 3 Pro with Sprite DD Extruder. Using Cura.

My fast settings are.

.3 Layer Height.

.2 Initial Layer Height.

3 Top/Bottom Layers.

2 Top Surface Layers.

15% Infill Cubic.

60 mm/s print speed.

35 mm/s Infill Speed.

35 mm/s outer wall speed.

45 mm/s inner wall speed

160 mm/s travel speed
