I decided to try free fusion 360 (been working in other programs tho).. I decided to do a simple carbine then I got sucked to make it actually usable… so as you can see it is version 11 (oops)..
its design is based for 3D printers and can be used with most common materials.. altho I prefer PETG. You don't need any supports and it can be scaled as you like, as long as you keep the springy part full infill.. spring is designed to withstand more load not to be flexed all the way tho.. It is very easy to print and no post processing or filing, the spring is preloaded and just snap it into position.. as long as you have some decent bed adhesion you are set.. I must state the obvious that of course it is not for climbing…
print orientation is placing the model flat on the side altho for some reason my slicers create more printer friendly line if you orientate spring part or clip part towards the printer home position
