cI'm always looking for excuses to do another 45° twist lock design, I'm always misplacing my readers and there was a Printables contest. Time for a glasses case.
Highly parametric design done in Fusion 360 (F3D included). Rough dimensions are 154mm tall (lid on container), 54mm diameter (at container-to-lid interface). Interior height of 150 mm. Narrowest part of the container is a 44mm x 32mm ellipse.
I sized the container to fit the two different models of generic reading glasses that I have. Both fit perfectly but anything larger isn't going to fit. Before printing, take some measurements and see if your glasses would fit through a 44mm x 32mm ellipse. If not you can adjust the F360 model or message me if you'd like a model with a different size.
Designed to be printed with a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.3mm layer height. A smaller nozzle and/or layer height would work fine it would just take longer to print. I printed my case in Printed Solid Mystery Orange PLA on a MK3S with Revo V6. Sliced using Prusa Slicer 2.5.0. Default 0.6mm x 0.3mm PLA settings with four vertical perimeters.
Added a GlassesCase_48x38.3mf version that has a 48mm x 38mm waist for slightly larger glasses.
I printed this in Atomic Filament Silky PLA and the lid to container fit is very tight. It will loosen up with a bit of use but if your printer has issues holding tolerance I'd recommend increasing the clearance
value in Fusion 360 and then re-slicing. I have another update for this coming in the next few days. I'll add larger clearance versions of the 3MFs.
