SKS front fender attachment

Oh boy! It is always the same with these attachments of the front fender of your bike from SKS:

There is always a point of time, where those cute little bast****s 🤬 break and the rods of the fender collide with your spokes and, shredding everything to pieces and you 💩 your 🩲. This event mostly occurs when you are driving on a dark, wet, muddy path in the woods.

But the biggest pain in the backside of your body is, that you can't find any spare parts for this idiotic pieces of engineering. Soooo my beloved Printy-Partners (isn't it a cute name for someone who has a 3D-Printer 😉)  there is a solution for this problem:

I have modelled this piece of 🥦.

I have printed it in PETG with solid infill and put a M3 thread insert in the backside of this piece of a thingy. 

“Uhhh sexy, it is a threaded insert”

Layerheight 0,2mm and printed it with the supports upside down. 

This model is a bit “chunckier” than the original one because PETG or PLA is a little mor brittle than the PP of the original part.

Feel free to print this devilish thing of a spare part!

Update:

After a little crash, on a fully ice covered road, the concept has proven it's design:

It broke in the right place. Tho rods are still in the attachment and are not interfering with the spokes. With two cable ties I was able to drive happily to my workplace.

The screw loosen not a bit. But now I can test my Version 2 of this construction.
