A jewellery box / small container made to look like the Round Tower in Copenhagen, complete with its internal spiral slope.

To print:

  • For all 4 parts (RoundTowerBody, RoundTowerObservatory, RoundTowerRoof, RoundTowerPin):
    • 20% infill
    • 0.4mm nozzle
    • PLA
    • 0.12mm layer height (could be bumped up to 0.2mm, but I printed at 0.12mm for a cleaner looking print)
  • For the ‘RoundTowerPin’:
    • Printed standing upright with 3 layers of raft underneath
  • For the ‘RoundTowerRoof’:
    • Bridging angle 135°

To assemble:

  • The pin is used to “lock” the observatory roof and main body together, which can be twisted clockwise to lock, and anticlockwise to unlock.
    • May need a slight amount of force during the initial insertion into the observatory roof if there is any internal stringing
  • The roof slides along the rails and clicks into place. Can be ‘unclicked’ easily by pulling and slightly lifting up the tower end of the roof.

Specs:

  • Size of Model:
    • Width (x axis): 123mm
    • Depth (y axis): 75mm
    • Height (z axis): 85.5mm
  • Size of container:
    • Width (x axis): 71mm (82mm at widest point)
    • Depth (y axis): 27.5mm
    • Height (z axis): 30mm

If you don't care much for the access to the internal slope and the detachable observatory, you can just print the ‘RoundTowerCombined’ and ‘RoundTowerRoof’, which can both be printed using the default settings shown above.

Printed in Geeetech Marble PLA.
