For nostalgic reasons the old christmas tree light chain needs to be on tree (at least that's what my wife said). The old clamps where broken - time for repair. Warning: this make is quite tricky. If you want to rebuild it, you may have to make some adjustments yourself. And even then, it may be easier to by a new light chain as the clamps are a little shaky.
- The ball joints on the bottom of our light chain candles have a diameter of about 5mm.
- I used the metal springs from old clothespins to add function to the printed clips.
- After printing first assemble the metal spring.
- Since I chose a very tight design for the ball joint, I had to heat the print again with hot water to be able to insert the ball joint (but even then, i had to use some force).
My print settings
- PETG
- 0.6 mm nozzle
- 0.4 mm layer height
- no support
