[Update 1: Added additional box variants to hold two sets of dice. Also added a bridge compartment variant with a bottom to hold additional stuff. See below for more info.]
This is a set of organizers for Rallyman GT including all expansions and stretch goals from the latest Kickstarter campaign. Everything fits in the box and all components will stay where they are, even if the box is stored on its side.
Instead of box inserts I went for separate organizer elements (most of them closable) which I tried to design in a way that keeps everything safe and in order. At the same they should help decrease setup time.
For example, I think it's much more convenient to hand each player a box containing all player pieces so that they can take out just what they need instead of passing them zip lock bags which they have to empty on the table, find the necessary pieces and then put the rest back into the bag.
[I also designed a set of organizers for Rallyman DIRT. It can be found here.]
Here are the main components:
All boxes come with a lid that locks into place. To open a box, push the lid with your thumbs in the direction indicated by the “arrows” on the edges.
There is not much to say about the hex tile holders. They hold all but one of the 73 tiles (DAMMIT!). If you put the tiles in the holders in an ascending order, the numbers on the side indicate where to find which tile.
Not much to say about the two boxes for the focus markers either. Very simple design, just remove the lid and put them on the table.
The dice box holds the dice, the oil and debris markers as well as the round markers. The round markers need to be put ontop of the dice side by side. The box has more than enough space for a single set of all dice that came with the Kickstarter package (6x gear + 3x break + 3x coasting + 1x boost = 13 dice). If you have a second dice set and want to store all dice together, you can find a larger dice box as well. It holds up to 26 dice plus the oil/debris markers. Choose one of the two folders in the file section called “Dice and Counter Boxes” and make sure to only print the STLs from the chosen folder. Do not mix the STLs or you might not be able to put everything in the box.
Each player box holds all cards for one player. There are two lid variants. Depending on which orientation you like to put the cards into the box (logo next to the top or logo next to the bottom), choose the lid with the correct “logo window”.
There are coutouts on the sides to easily lift the cards up.
Below the cards you can find all other components. For the danger, SISU and gear markers there should be enough space to get them out using your fingers. To get out the the soft tire markers, just push on them on the left or right edge to lift them up a bit. For the cars, push down on their engine hood.
If put in the right way, everything should fit nicely:
I mainly print with Prusament PLA (at 215°C), DasFilament PLA (at 200°C) or Polyterra PLA (at 190°C) using the standard Prusament PLA profile in PrusaSlicer. The lids of the organizer boxes click into place to keep the boxes shut. Your printer should be well calibrated, otherwise this might not work properly. Be sure to print the test model before printing anything else. Check, if the gear markers and the SISU counter fit into the corresponding recesses. Also test, if the lock-in mechanism has a nice click and keeps the lid in position.
If you have a hard time sliding the lid into the grooves and/or you need a lot of force to open or close the lid, either try sanding the edges of the lid a little or slightly decrease the size of the model by setting the x/y compensation to -0.2 mm or so. If the lid is too loose set the x/y conpensation value to about 0.2.
I printed everything with a MK3S but all components will also fit on a Mini
Please let me know what you think. Also, do feel free to drop me a message, if you have problems with printing these or if you have ideas for add-ons or for how to improve the designs.
All my models are free and may be used and shared by everyone. I put a lot of time in my designs to get everything right and I hope the result shows. So, if you like my stuff, consider supporting me here: paypal.me/schnelge.
