I have discovered recently, that they don't sell Europlug sockets in the local shops, preferring to offer many kinds of power sockets with grounding (much bigger in size).

To be clear, I needed a socket for Europlug (CEE 7/16 Alternative II plug, CEE 7/16 plug). And it should be not wider than a power supply with integrated power plug (see it on a picture below).

So I have designed it around the parts sourced from the grounded socket I had at the moment (Borsan BR1515). Later I found that the design works well also with the vitamins taken from another grounded socket: Lezard 715-0600-606 (while the contacts are smaller and are suited not so tough in printed housing).

While the primary goal of the Europlug Socket is to fit europlugs, I also adapted the design to fit other kinds of plain power plugs I had (see on the title picture).

Prior to printing it, make sure that you have some incombustible (or flame-resistant) plastic, and read the Warning section.

Those are the power sockets with grounding to get the parts from:

Here is the power supply with the integrated europlug (to be used with the printed socket housing):

As you can see, the power socket with grounding is much wider than the power supply:

So, depending on you need, print either (EuroplugSocketBottom.stl + EuroplugSocketUpper.stl), or (EuroplugSocketMirrorBottom.stl + EuroplugSocketMirrorUpper.stl which are mirrored to the previous one with the exception of threading for the screws), and fill them with the parts from grounded power socket of your your choice. The picture below shows one assembled socket with the power supply connected to it, and another (mirrored one) half-assebled:

The video of how to disassemble the grounding sockets (both Borsan and Lezard) and how to assemble europlug sockets:

WARNING

The socket will be operating with themains electricity. In order to assemble the Europlug Socket youMUST HAVE both knowledge and experience in making things with high voltage electrical parts (mains, 220V - 240V).Do it on your own risk. I will not be responsible for any loss or damage.

Always check twice that the device and any of its parts/wires are NOT connected to mains before assembling and touching it! Make sure that your work-in-progress project is not accessible for children, pets and others!

Even if you are comfortable with working on DIY projects which involve mains electrical parts, please refresh your knowledge about electrical safety with the help of some good books/articles, for example:
