Description

PDF

Unlike other similar coin wallets, with this one you will always see how many coins you have.

It requires 8 compressions springs - details below.

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Print all the parts except the star.stl preferably on a textured bed
  2. Print the star.stl on a smooth bed with supports
  3. Use 8 pieces of 8mm (diameter) x 20mm (height) x 0.6mm (wire thickness) springs to push followers upwards. I used a drop of superglue to ensure the springs stay in place. Stronger springs might turn your wallet into a coin launcher. ;)
  4. After having placed the followers and the springs, use superglue to attach the central star. Apply force to ensure the star is properly glued, so the followers wouldn't push it out.
  5. Wait for at least an hour for the glue to cure, before putting the coins in.

Read the description of each file!

SPRINGS

The 8 x 20 x 0.6mm compression springs can be bought in bulks on AliExpress. (So can Euro Coin Wallets, but those don't have a place for 1c coins, and they don't show how many coins there are inside.)

NOTE ON TOLERANCES

The lid tolerance is 0.1mm (on Version 1 OD of the box is 77.90mm and the ID of the lid is 88.00mm, on Version 2 OD of the box is 77.85mm). It's a perfect fit with Prusament - snug but still easy to open, but if you use a different filament it might be a good idea to decrease the Flow during the print by 2%. If you find the lid too loose, you can reprint just the lid with increased Flow.

NOTES ON DURABILITY

  • Be careful not to drop it, or it will most likely launch your coins all over the place.
  • Do not leave it in a car on a hot day if you printed it in PLA.
  • Do not use springs stronger than specified.
