This filament spool holder relocates the spool to the side of the machine for a more direct filament feed into the extruder, or when space above the machine is limited (as was my case).
It doesn't require any mounting hardware – simply pop the plug off the back of the base extrusion and slide it into the slots.
However, it does require this spindle from AngryHulk ("mounting_clip" not required):

Compatible with spools of up to Ø200mm OD. Any larger and the spool will interfere with the x-axis motor.
Verified to function with an Ender 3 Pro, but it may be compatible with other machines. I printed it in PLA with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.3mm layer height, and 5 walls all-round.
