I wanted to get the kids interested in model rocketry, but the Estes rocket models are prohibitively expensive when you lose them. The attached models are designed to fit a 40mm mailing tube, cut in half with the nose at one end and the rocket body at the other.
Construction is by inserting the motor centraliser into the rocket motor base, inserting an Estes engine, filling the void with expanding foam, trimming the excess foam once cured, and then gluing up the nose and motor base to the mailing tube. There is ample space to pack in a parachute (or a fireworks charge) but this is definitely not a “pro” model - a crude means to an end.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
