Staring through the hole in the door where a handle once was, I asked myself, “why should my life be like this?”
This design went through a ton of iterations before I posted this. The knob this was designed for has a wood core & metal frame, making the original proposal of a heat insert & through-bolt impractical. I decided to go for a method by which both sides were screwed in independently with tech screws.
Eventually, I'm going to want this doorknob to have a functional latch, but that's not exactly what this model was about. If you want to make your own dumb knob using my design, feel free! Maker coins using this design should be scaled to 60mmx60mmxXmm, and plopped onto the stem! My coin has been provided separately for reference.
Print with tree supports only! Using standard supports won't be any fun. Consider your environment, and decide on your filament type accordingly. I printed these with 3dfuel Pro PLA, but PETG is another option.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
