UPDATES:

  • 20250123 - Added RPi3B Variant but I don't own an rpi3B so check before printing!
  • 20250123 - Added Headrail files since I didn't include them originally

Everyone be sure to check out Jeff Geerling's Github and website for more mini-rack resources! Project Mini-Rack & Github geerlingguy/mini-rack

This is a mini-server rack with equipment trays for:

  • Philips hue hub
  • IKEA Tradfri bridge/hub
  • Dual Raspberry pi 4B
  • Dual Raspberry pi 3B
  • Lutron Caseta hub
  • TP-Link TL-SG108E Smart switch
  • Anker Powerport 6-port USB power supply

In order to assemble, you will need:

  • M5 nuts for frame
  • M5x10mm screws to hold equipment trays onto frame
  • M5x12mm screws for frame rail couplers and feet
  • M3 nuts for caseta and hue hub tray; TP-link switch tray
  • M3 x 8mm screws for caseta and hue hub tray
  • M3 x 12mm screws for TP-link switch tray

Everything can be printed on an Ender 3 build plate up to the 4U frames (some things must be turned 45degrees).

All of my devices are 5V powered so I used the Anker Powerport 6-port USB power supply to power the entire rack from one mains outlet. I used:

  • USB-A to 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel plug cable for the philips hue hub
  • USB-A to 3.5x1.25mm barrel plug cable for the TP-link switch
  • USB-A to USB-C right angle cables for the raspberry pi's

This is a standard “10in half-rack” with standard unit height of 44.5mm. Find reference dimensions here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/84/19_inch_vs_10_inch_rack_dimensions.svg

I printed mine of PLA (protopasta HTPLA Empire strikes black), 3 walls, 15-20% gyroid infill, supports where needed.
