Desktop Peg Checkers

This small peg-based checkers fits great on any table and has integrated sliding storage for the pegs underneath. If you like checkers and don't want a large cardboard board taking up space, this is a great option. This is based off a wooden model I seen at a bar that I really enjoyed.

When playing, I recommend keeping the storage slightly exposed as shown in one photo so captured pieces could easily be given a home (and not roll away). Each peg has a side with a circular indent. This side indicated the piece is a queen.


PRINTING
The storage base will need supports just under the overhanging slot, which should be easy to remove. Depending on your printer and tuning, you might need to lube the slot or scale up the model on the Z axis a very small amount in order for it to slide.

You will need to print 64 total checker color squares, 32 of each color (white and red shown). These need to be glued into place (it only took me ~12 minutes).

For the game piece pegs, I recommend adding a color change at the top and bottom where the chamfer ends (go crazy with color choices, I added 4 sections to the base to allow for player color choice)
