Remixed Volker's design with various improvements in order to make it easier to print the text in a different color for easier readability. This also makes it so that all of the text (sides and top) are the same color. Adds that nice extra-touch instead of just the top layer being whatever color you selected.

I've remixed the following hinged box to work with these swatches. The hinged design is nice as you can easily scroll through the swatches without having to take them out.

Note: I am using the following Fusion 360 Add-On so that the text can be parameterized and you do not have to go through the hoop of manually editing the sketches.  https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=2114937992453312456

CHANGES:

  • Text are all parameterized. Requires Fusion 360 add-on installed to easily change brand, filament type, and color text
  • Text height is now parameterized
    • Parameter name: text_height
    • Default is 4mm which is easily legible on my machine, can go up if your printer cannot print this fine. I'd recommend to not go any lower.
    • Had to change this for long brand/color names as they would run into each other. 4mm is the biggest you can go without them colliding if they overlap.
  • Text is now extruded as separate bodies to allow for easier separate color printing

Steps to Customize

  1. Download and install the following Fusion 360 add-on: https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=2114937992453312456
  2. Download the Fusion 360 file and open the file
  3. Click on “Modify” in the Design tab
    • This should be the default tab that is opened when you open the file
  4. Click on “Change Text Parameters”
    • NOTE: This will only appear if you downloaded the add-on in step 1
  5. You should now see 3 parameters. Change them to whatever you like and then click OK. I recommend using ALL CAPS for better legibility and ease of printing
    • Text Material - Bottom left text
    • Text Color - Top left text
    • Text Brand - Top right text
  6. Render should update the text with your input. Might take a couple of seconds for it to finish rendering the changes.
  7. Go to File > 3D Print
  8. Select “Bodies” in the tree view. This will use the main body along with all of the generated text's bodies into one file
  9. Output to your slicer

*** These steps are now specific to Bambu Slicer as that is what I use ***
  10.  I've noticed that Bambu Slicer does not like to have a running instance before having Fusion 360 sending files over so make sure that Bambu Slicer is closed before Step 9 above
  11. Once you sent the file over from Fusion 360 to Bambu Slicer, Bambu Slicer should open and a prompt tilted “Multi-part object detected”
  12. Click Yes.
  13. Click on Objects in the Process Tab
  14. You should now see lots of “Body” parts and then “main_body” at the end
  15. “main_body” should be changed to the color you want
  16. Select all of the “Body” parts and change them to whatever you want the text color to be
  17. You'll need Auto Orient this file so that the back of the file is correctly placed on the bed
  18. You can now verify that the print looks the way you want. With the “main_body” being what color you want printed, and the text being the color you selected all of the “Body” parts
  19. Slice and Print
