This is a remix on some ideas I found for to move the LCD outside an enclosure for the PRUSA Mk3s. This specific remix allows the use of the original LCD mountings without needing to modify or reprint them.
The one drawback to using the original mounts is that there is a larger gap between the enclosure and the LCD (~ 1 SD card width, or enough to rest a glue stick), see attached pictures. I have yet to make the pass-through cutout for the PSU and LCD wires but I find there is plenty of slack cable if you want to play with the mounting a bit.
The main motivation for this was that I had already printed off TPU mounts for the LCD controller to eliminate some rattle and it seemed a shame to retire them when they worked so well.
The original nuts/bolts are used for fixing the LCD mounts. I used two wood screws to mount this to the LACK enclosure and the holes provided allow for an 11 [mm] screw head and a maximum thread diameter of 5.8 [mm]. The STEP file is provided if you want to customise.
I recommend building this in a flexible material as a preventative in case the external LCD is bumped into, it also gives a nice feel when navigating the menu.
I have added a bit more of a print tolerance (0.2 [mm] on all faces), before I had to use some grease (at 0.15 [mm]) to help slide in mounts into the slots but it should be a snug fit.
