Once upon a time, someone suggested having an abacus instead of tokens to count fears in Spirit Island would be great. So here it is!
It can be used for 2-4 players and up to 6 fear tokens per spirit. This is enough for most uses including England VI and some events. Adding a very infortunate blight card can lead to more but is highly unlikely.
The top compartment include storage for 2 rods, the bottom one holds 2 sets of 6 fear disks. The size is close to the fear space on the invader mat.
The provided settings make a nice touch even without painting. Do not hesitate to share your own settings :)
Printing instructions
Print the frame and covers with a basic resolution like 0.20mm. Nothing special here, supports are not needed. I used Dailyfil green PLA.
Print the fear disks making sets of 6 using sequential printing and a maximum resoluton of 0.15mm, the lower the better. I used Spectrum Lavender PLA.
Print the fear logo with a filament change, 0.20mm is ok.
The covers are intended for vertical printing without supports, using a maximum resolution of 0.15mm and a brim. The inbuilt columns ensure stability during printing. You might want to discard them if using a coreXY, delta or any kind of printers which bed doesn't shake, but they were useful on an i3.
The side settings should be printed vertically with tree supports (see picture). Same comment as above for the columns.
You should need about 300g of green PLA, 130g of lavender and a bit of black.
Rods are 14cm long, 6mm diameter brass (laiton). Remember that chamfers are what separate us from animals ;). You can alternatively print 4 “brass-axles” (no support needed).
Magnets (8 in total) are 3mm tall, 8mm diameter. Just put a drop of CA glue before inserting them and don't forget to check orientation if you want your covers to close ;)
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
