Pinwheel Hexagon Tessellation

Six pedals make up the unit cell for this hexagonal tessellation. Print them with the display face on the print bed for the best surface finish. I created an assembly jig to help hold them while you glue them together. Super glue with accelerant worked well. I was careful not to get any glue on the display surfaces Once you have a unit cell, you can assemble them on their face to build up the overall piece. You can put as many of the unit cells together to make this be as large as you'd like. Or you can make some partial unit cells like I did to stop the pattern in a hexagon shape. I had aspirations to make a full accent wall out of these, but met with reality and stopped at an an accent piece.

The inspiration for this came from an amazing accent wall I saw at a Marriott hotel in Texas. It was an entire wall created out of wood pieces. Props to the carpenter/artist that put that wall together.
