Suet Ball holder for BirdBuddy

Squirrels ran away with the top to my original Bird Buddy suet ball holder, quite possibly because the original was a bit too snug on the size suet balls I was able to purchase. This is my second attempt at modelling a replacement, but the first that might be worth sharing. The first one didn't survive its encounter with existing in the physical world.

In my first attempt at printing this model, I printed it with supports, with the threads up both halfs facing up.  I was concerned the threads would get messed up with supports if I faced them down to generate less supports.  I'll keep experimenting. 

Update: 1/22/2023: Version 2.1 of the bottom now enriched with vitamins! It now has a spot for a M5-.80 x 30 hex head bolt which fits the socket on the bird buddy and hopefully is a lot stronger to deal with squirrel attacks than the first provided model did.  I also tried printing the v2 model on its side for strength, and it was stronger, but lost all details of the the printed M5 threads, maybe with a smaller nozzle this would still be an option.

Previous Update: 1/30/2022:  Squirrels knocked this one off, I will need to work on strengthening where the printed screw attaches.  Be on the look out for version 2 coming soon.
