40mm Fan Gasket

Quick and dirty chop job on this one… I imported the STL of this dummy fan model, removed the blades and sliced out a 1mm thick section of the body to print and use as a gasket.

I would suggest TPU for best results, but I actually did this largely as a test item for a spool of flexible PLA I picked up that supposedly works well with no need for the printer to be enclosed. In the pic the edges are a little rough partly because I had to use a brim and could not peel it off so I had to use a blade (in retrospect, given the softness of the material, I could/should have used very small scissors) and partly because I was mostly testing the filament and was printing at a faster speed then I should have for this. As for the flexible PLA, it did okay, the gasket is flexible and did indeed help with noise; but, I also tried to print a doorstop with it but that curled on the edges and lost adhesion half way through the print (hence why I used a brim on the gasket), so, ultimately I would say the filament is decent enough, but needs to use brims and/or draft shields. This is the filament if anyone is interested.
