I created this as a gift for a few of my family members and it was a big hit. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it on Printables sooner, but maybe someone can use this next year. I'm 3D modeling novice, so the base and ornament were created in fusion 360 and edited in tinkercad (because of skill limits). To get the light working you will need some simple soldering skills but this model looks nice without the light as well.
The Tree:
I used @3DPrintBunny original Christmas Tree Bauble for the tree and star shape. I added extra layers to that model and inserted a slot for installing a wire. I added a print pause at the layer just before the bridging over the slot occurred which allowed me to insert the wiring with relative ease. I used two color breaks for style and a Line infill because I liked how it looked.
The Base:
I designed the tree base to fit a simple CR2032 Battery Holder with an on/off switch. This went through a few iterations, but in the end this was the most simple way to allow for extra wire and still have access to the on/off switch.
The Ornament:
Created the ornament to allow for a circle photo to be glued against the back plate and an LED Diode to be pushed up from the inside to connect to the battery wire via some simple soldering.
