I was frustrated by how long it takes to dry a water bladder after using it. What bothered me even more was how moisture tends to stay inside the tube.

So I gave it a shot and designed a dryer to speed up the process and push the moisture out of the bladder - and excecially out of the tube.

I'm aware the design isn’t exactly sleek or sophisticated — to be honest, it’s quite primitive. But it is quite effective and works really well: both the bladder and the tube are dry and safe within about an hour.

It’s designed for a Decathlon water bladder, but I’m confident it’ll work for other brands too (Platypus, Camelbak, etc.).

The dryer uses a standard 120mm axial fan, which is quiet and produces virtually no vibrations. This is a deliberate choice — axial fans are ideal for this kind of use, unlike radial (or “turbo”) fans which tend to be noisier and more vibration-prone due to their operating principle.

The model consists of a few parts:
- the fan itself
- an air outlet
- three legs
- optional “shoes” for the legs

You can print all parts (except the shoes) in PLA or any other rigid material — it really doesn't matter. The shoes are optional, and if you decide to use them, I recommend printing them in TPU (or a similar soft filament) to reduce possible vibrations and improve grip.

Infill isn’t critical either, but here’s what I used:
- Outlet: ~15%
- Legs: ~40%
- Shoes: ~50%

I didn’t design any air inlet or protective grid for the fan. It works fine as-is, and I don’t see any safety risk in my setup. But if you'd like one, you’ll find plenty of premade designs online that can be easily combined with this.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask — I’ll be happy to help!

Accessory available:
There is also an optional adapter for drying tubes from a beverage dispensing system (beer tap). It works with both the gas line (compressed air or CO₂) and the beer line. After flushing the lines, some moisture usually remains inside — this adapter allows you to dry them quickly and efficiently using the same dryer base.
You can find it here: Dryer for tubes of the beverage dispensing machine

UPDATE 8.8.2025
Added an alternative base for the dryer with matching feet. TPU is recommended for the feet to help dampen vibrations, but it's not critical.
