My ExoTerra rainforest terrarium does not have a drainage hole, which is why I needed a solution to remove excess water from the drainage layer. For this I created the drainage shaft with a suitable lid. The shaft should be placed on the bottom of the terrarium before filling in the material for the drainage layer. When there is too much water in the bottom layer, the excess water can be easily removed through the shaft with a small hose (see picture). For me this solution works very well.

Print instructions:

  • layer height 0.3mm (no details required here)
  • preferred material: PETG (because of the usage inside water)
  • print as is without any supports
