In my journey to upgrade my Ender 5 Plus, I found myself opening and closing the electronics box at the base of the printer a LOT. It quickly became a pain, so I went hunting for a new enclosure for my board… one that was easier to get into and out of. I found this model by Grayfaux and gave it a print. It worked well, but while installing it, I found it a little claustrophobic.
So this remix aims to a couple not-so-mini case options. The original dimensions were 92.02mm wide by 156.36mm long (according to TinkerCAD). I didn't touch the height, but if I find a need to, I might go back in and make it a bit deeper. The Long Remix keeps the 92.02mm width but rounds the length to an even 202mm. The Long & Wide Remix makes it 120mm wide and 202mm long. If I ever feel up to it, I might come back and add a mounting option for 2020 extrusions, but no promises.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I haven't tested these prints yet, so who knows if they actually work. I have the original files printed and my modifications aren't otherworldly, so they should work. I intend to test the Long & Wide Remix, since that's what I need. So y'know, here be dragons n' shit. Thou art forewarned.
Print Settings: I dunno, it's a box. I used eSUN PLA+ on the original print because it's what I had on hand. I did 20% Gyroid infill, but feel free to experiment.
Assembly: The original uses M3 screws and nuts, I only needed M3 screws. The fan shroud fits a 40x10mm fan rather snug, so you might not even need screws for the fan. I didn't.
Go brainless, you glorious bastards.
