This is my approach to learn Arduino. A thing (arduino_breadboard.stl) was downloaded from Thingiverse. I give credit to the inventor superwoodle "Arduino w/Breadboard Holder", licensed under the Creative Commons - Attribution license; Thingiverse thing:1190968.
I created several parts that fit into a whole experimental board.
Could prewire two potentiometer, one switch (see right side). Ready grounded, just need to connect +5V of Arduino and "S" like in Signal for Inputs of the Arduino. Same with the switch. That is easier to handle, nicer to see and less to wire up.
Could incorporate a small Voltmeter (see left side), just a FYI. And two LEDs. Ready grounded, ready pre-resistored, just one wire to be connected to light. Easy to use.
You end up in such gadgets if you have toooo much time to kill.
But others like this little helper. Makes Arduino learning a bit more fun, or not.

Notes:
Some parts need support, most not. Therefore, I designed several parts to fit. Glue it with Uhu plastic glue or whatever you have good experience with.
Enjoy and have fun.
