I like the design, I'm having trouble with guys breaking the thin part that hugs the bucket. Would you be willing to share the .step file so I could thicken that part up a little?

@BryZarr_248380 So sorry! I have been away from my maker space for a while! Looks like you posted this one year ago!
Did you resolve this? I should be able to generate a step file. You could use the STL for the same, no?
Thanks for the nice design....I added some brass threaded inserts into the ramp piece and attached a piece of 3mm mdf covered with glued on hessian. I also made a holder for the bait which is screwed to the bucket. Works well! (edited)
@maxv is the .stl for the bait holder available somewhere?
@Ninja make sure you check every day! I set this all up 3 days ago and forgot about it, went out today and had 6 dead mice! Works great, I put about 2-3 inches of water in the bottom to make sure there are no survivors!
@Ninja 6! Nice! I also find that I have to change the water frequently.
Great model, thanks for making and sharing it! I haven't caught any of those little buggers yet, but they're eating my chile plant starters, so I'm going to print out a bunch more of these and have buckets everywhere! :) Did you ever get the ramp model finished? That would be a nice addition to this "kit."
@eslacker nice job on the print! I’m glad you liked it! I only finished the ramp connection point piece. I guess I could print a ramp as well.
Separately, I really like your bait idea. It solves the most difficult problem with this trap…how to add bait without changing the balance of the flipper. By putting the bait on the other side and out of reach…the flipper stays flippy and you can add more bait…which holds its scent longer!
I might try to capture that idea in a model addition.
Fantastic! I really like the use of the machine screws for the pivots. Nicely done!
I made 10 of these and all my friends are using them!
Thanks.
When I import the STL files into PrusaSlicer they look tiny. I'm guessing that you are not using standard units for the STL files
Thanks! I forgot to mention that...I did the design in imperial units. I usually use metric...but in this case I had the measurements from the pail etc in Imperial units.
To resolve this on PrusaSlicer you will need to enter the X,Y and Z multiplier of 2540 to get the proper size! I’ll fix the files and re-upload. Thanks for reminding me. (edited)
Any luck catching mice with this trap?
Does home depot sell these 1/4" posts?
I have to finish the ramp. I know it will work once I do that. The 1/4” posts I just cut from standard 1/4” steel stock from Home Depot. A 1/4” bolt of the right length would probably work as well. I’m sending the ramp mount design to the printer shortly. Watch this space for updates! (edited)
any pictures of the ramp mount print?
