Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro filament detector mount

This part replaces the spool holder on the Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro.

The Neptune 3 Pro has a large spool holder that increases the height of the printer. I use a filament dryer on a bookshelf above my printer so the built-in spool holder is not needed and makes the printer too tall. The filament detector is attached to the spool holder so I needed an alternative detector mount.

I fixed this by designing a component that mounts to the spool holder location and better positions the filament detector for downward-fed filament.

The printed component has an M3 hole on one side to accept the filament holder screw directly and a 4mm hole on the other side to accept an M3 insert. The M3 hole works fine, just be careful not to over-tighten. If you have M3 inserts available, this would be a more professional solution and is easier to take apart and re-assemble.

All original bolts are used to secure the part so no additional fittings are required. 

Designed in Fusion 360, using chamfered edges that match the printer design.

Made in PLA+ with 10% infill, 0.15mm layer height.
