EDIT 7/11/22: I found that after 2 years of use, enough dirt and crud had collected to fill up and clog my gutter. I have shrunk the depth of this diverter, hoping that it will give a clearer path for any dirt that finds its way into my gutter.
So, my father-in-law gave me a big rain barrel and I wanted to find a way to modify my gutter without completely cutting through it. I made a print that would let me cut a square hole in my gutter and siphon off the rain water into my barrel.
So I cut the square, placed my print in the hole, siliconed around it, and even screwed some sheet metal screws into the gutter itself.
I got a tiny drizzle and managed to get inches in my rain barrel last night so I consider it a success!
