This is a remix of Stinkfoot71's Feast For Odin & Norwegians insert. I also modified nizmox's vikings tray and island tray.

Here is an imgur album so you can see the pictures/assembly in better definition.

My goal was to lay out the expansion tiles in a way similar to the base game tiles in the original insert. I like being able to see all of my options at once, and didn't like how the expansion tray was so small and only showed one side of each piece.

In addition, I updated the special tiles tray to separate the three types of special tiles out, making setup much easier. Along the lines of nizmox's tray, I added storage in the island tray for the starting player token, dice, and the round overview tracker.

I decided to create a separate tray for the victory point tokens, which came out very well. Space was limited, but I got it to work. I like it this way, since you can just keep them in the tray while playing, which is much more functional then them being stored in the island tray.

I added the new small emigration tile into the boat tile tray. This allows the boat tile tray to work as a supply board if you want to save setup time.

I also fixed the spacer at the very bottom of the insert. I originally tried to re-split the one from the original remix, but the action board spots were all 2mm too short. I think that's why the remixes of those parts always shot this giant split in the middle -- allowance for those 2mm. I remixed the tray to fit better, minimize that gap, and added a ledge on both ends of the tray to provide better support for the layer above it.

Lastly, some of the files in the old versions of this insert had mesh issues, which I fixed via netfabb and some manual tinkering in solidworks.

Every STL is included in this remix.  This insert does fit sleeved cards.

Please let me know if you give this print a try, and if there are any issues I'll be glad to fix them.

Expansion Islands

The original insert intended for users to throw away or store certain base game components elsewhere. For example, the base game supply board for ships, and the base game islands, which were redesigned in the Norwegians expansion.

My island tray stores the same amount of expansion boards as the original -- 12. The only change is that mine is a little deeper to account for different thicknesses of the islands between the print runs. For reference, in my pictures I have the 8 Norwegian boards and the 4 original ones stored.

It looks like mini expansion #1 comes with two new expansion boards (Lofoten/Orkney and Teirra del Fuego). Mini expansion #2 (Harvest) comes with one new expansion board (Isle of Mull/Caithness). So if you removed the 4 original boards from the base game, you would definitely have enough space.

The insert I remixed did have trays for the mini expansion components, which are compatible, and included with my remix files as well. They sit inside the currency tray, as seen in the top right of this picture of the old insert.

If you have the original tray

The parts that were modified for this remix are:

  1. The Island Tray (Must Print)
    • Complete Redesign, and different footprint.
  2. Hut Tray (Must Print)
    • Shrunk slightly in order to make the part the same width as nizmox's updated viking tray. This gave me the extra space I needed for the expansion tray.
  3. Boat Tray (Must Print)
    • Complete redesign, and different footprint.
  4. VP Tray (Must Print)
    • New tray.
  5. Expansion Tray (Must Print)
    • Shorter to allow the VP Tray to sit on top.
    • Much larger footprint to allow both sides of each tile to be visible.
  6. The Viking Tray (Optional)
    • I included the revised version of the viking tray from nizmox. I don't believe I made any changes to their remix, and theirs was compatible with the original insert.
    • The original viking tray didn't fill all of the available space, which was fixed in nizmox's remix and in my remix.
  7. Bottom Spacer (Optional)
    • The bottom spacer now fits the box/components better, and has a "ledge" on both sides to support the above components better on the edges.
    • If your current spacer works for you, there's no need to reprint this.
    • The split spacer and 1/4 spacers that are available on thingiverse can sit far enough apart that it accounts for the issues in the original design. You can see how the other existing remixes look here and here while the updated one looks like this.

The parts that are unchanged from the original insert are:

  • Card Tray
  • Resource Tray
  • Money Tray
  • All four tile trays for the base A Feast For Odin goods.

To summarize, everything you can see in this picture didn't change. Reprinting the vikings trays and the bottom spacer is optional. Everything else is required.

EDIT (12-26-2022): Uploaded correct Tile Tray No4.

EDIT (06-04-2023): Added a variant of the bottom spacer that is split into 4 pieces for printers with smaller print beds. Referred to as “A Feast For Odin - Remodeled Bottom Spacer - 4Split”.
