With this template you can turn a piece of 10mm (3/8") present ribbon into a nice bow to put on your Christmas, valentine and other presents.

You need:

  • 3,25m of 10mm wide ribbon (or 10 feet and 8" of 3/8" ribbon)
  • scissors
  • a stapler
  • a piece of tape

Steps:

  1. Print the attached model (obviously :-)
  2. Cut 3.25m of ribbon (10 feet and 8")
  3. Thread the start of the ribbon through the 2 slots
  4. Now wrap the ribbon around the number 1 tab (from left to right)
  5. Continue and wrap the ribbon around number 2
  6. Keep going until you reach 8 and continue to number 1 again
  7. Keep going until you've almost used all of the ribbon (this is around 5 times from 1 to 8)
  8. Put 2 staples in the middle of the template to fix the ribbon in place
  9. Now gently remove the template from the ribbon tab by tab (it is printed thin enough to allow a some bending)
  10. Separate the layers of each of the tabs of the ribbon
  11. Now put a piece of wrapped around (or double sided) tape and stick the protruding end in the center to the bottom (making a small loop).

  12. Cut the other end so it doesn't protrude the bow.
  13. To stick the bow to the present, use another piece of wrapped around (or double sided) tape.
