Overview: This model was inspired by the farscape1 LUT. New parts have been made to make it exact per the original NASA 75M-05120 and 75M-05121 drawings. The farscape1 model was pretty sparse so many additional parts are provided by aviator67. Once I got into this model I realized the farscape1 model has too many inaccuracies. As a result I have used none of the farscape1 parts for this model. I have however used many of the aviator67 added parts as well as some other parts that have been given to me along the way. Reference the parts spreadsheet to see the origin of the various parts. At the top I plan to add ChristineZ's crane.
Procedures: Start with the spreadsheet that lists all the parts that need to be printed along with their origin. This model is not for the feint of heart as there are over 5000 pieces. I suggest studying the photos and original drawings along with the Micro Artwork Level drawing. I have also provided spreadsheets that describe the I-Beams, legs and other parts by level.
WARNING: This model is a build in progress. If you wish to build the entire model, I would start with the Launcher (the base the Umbilical Tower sits on) and the Saturn V rocket (I modeled the 1/60th scale amphioxus model). The overall status is listed below. A part by part status exists in the parts spreadsheet. You can follow my progress at http://www.spacemodels-forum.com/t41f46578-Scale-LUT.html
Due to the size of this model, I have chosen to divide this model into sections. I chose to not glue these sections together so that the tower can be disassembled and moved. Notice that the model should be built from the ground up, level by level.
The model is split into multiple models on this site that contain like parts due to the overwhelming number of parts. The models and their overall status are as follows:
